Weatherzone is forecasting a high of just four degrees for Oberon on Friday and five degrees on Saturday. Rain and windy conditions are predicted for Thursday, with a 95 per cent chance of rain and snow falling above 1100 metres.
According to the Bureau of Meteorology's MetEye weather tracker, snow is predicted to start falling late on Thursday evening and into Friday morning, clearing up by Friday afternoon.
The biggest range of predicted snowfall is at 7am on Friday, covering areas such as Oberon, Black Springs, Shooters Hill and Jenolan Caves.
Meanwhile, level three water restrictions can now be introduced as the dam level has dropped below 25 per cent.
Oberon Council general manager Gary Wallace said given the dam capacity, council will be looking to level three.
"However, due to the short-term forecast for substantial rain over the next week, this transition has been delayed," he said. "A further decision in relation to implementation of level three will be made next week."
